Comments on October bus trip (cont'd)

Elvis Presley Birthplace--The church had been used as a private residence and located at 1358
Berry Street which was very close by. If you're interested, check this location on Mapquest.com.

Nashville Palace (next to Fiddler's Inn)--The band always includes those great country classics
and rock 'n' roll that everyone loves to listen or dance to! What a great way to end a long
traveling day by partying and hearing Rick sing!

Grand Ole Opry Museum--Quite a few country music stars honored in this museum, so make sure to see the displays of your favorites before leaving.

Opryland Hotel--Has beautiful gardens with flowers, plants, and trees from all over the world. This place is unbelievably huge and it is all under cover, believe it or not! Includes many shops and restaurants. Also has a nice boat ride (around 30 min.) to learn of the history of the hotel. Easy to get lost, so you'll be reading signs and looking at maps here.

Loretta Lynn's Plantation Home Tour--Built by wealthy slaveowner, James Anderson. Soon after moving in in 1967(?), Loretta and her family noticed some odd things about it. Of all the historical or plantation homes you may have visited, this tour I believe will be one of the most interesting! Enjoy your tour!

Loretta Lynn's Restaurant--Can get the buffet or order from the menu. Quite a few pictures of Loretta on the walls. Nice gift shop with Elvis souvenirs included.

To all: Since I have been on the previous 3 bus trips, I would like to comment on some of the places that will be included on the trip in October (See schedule).

Graceland--What I like about going to Graceland (9AM-5PM) is that after the group photo and boarding the vans and having gone up the drive to the front of the mansion, you are then on your own. Take as long as you like seeing everything: the mansion, grounds, Meditation Garden. Afterward, just sit for a while and just enjoy being there! Take all the pictures you wish including inside the mansion. Rick is always happy to do a picture! So when you're ready, the van leaves every few minutes. You still have plenty of time to eat lunch, get ice cream, and go through all the shops, or just sit and enjoy the scenery and Elvis music before having to be back at the bus.

Elvis Presley Birthplace--What is exciting about this is that the First Assembly of God Church that Elvis and his parents attended is now on the property near the chapel and is being renovated to look like 1940 when Elvis was only 5 years old. It will be ready in August!

Peabody Hotel (downtown Memphis since 1925)--Has a magnificent grand lobby where you can relax and enjoy food and drink. Also quite a few shops including Lansky's where Rick has made some purchases. And you get to see those famous Peabody ducks (so cute!) step out of the fountain in the lobby onto a red carpet for their walk to the elevator to go to their palace on the roof for the night.

Rick - I have been looking at your touring schedule for the rest of 2008. I will see you at the City Cafe and at Ft Mill in August and December. I was hoping to see you at PJ's in Matthews but I do not see it on your touring schedule anymore. I wish you would stay around Ft. Mill, Matthews, Mt. Holly, etc. more so that I can see you. I am going to be at the Newberry, S.C. show next year. I just LOVE your shows and I miss it when I can't drive long distances to see you perform. I LOVE your shows. I just hope that you stay where I can drive to see you perform in 2009.

I attended the show at the Newberry Opera House on May 17. Let me begin by saying that Rick Alviti is a class act. I have seen many Elvis impersonators and Rick is at the top of my list. The show was great, for Rick truly knows how to work a crowd. He and his band perform the show with the utmost respect and tribute to the King himself. I will share this: On the day of the show, I went to the box office several hours before the show was to begin to pick up my tickets. Rick was in the lobby and approached me to shake hands and chat. I asked him if he would mind taking a photo with my daughter and he was very accepting and gracious. He really impressed me with this simple act of interaction and kindness. He never acted superior or bothered to mingle with folks and that speaks volumes to me. As for the show, once again it was great. I really like the fact that he includes his father as the MC (who was great as well). I will certainly attend Rick's future shows and I would like to add that Newberry is very fortunate to have Rick as a regular performer. He is great at what he does and I believe that the King would be honored to see his tribute. God Bless.

Rick - I am really looking forward to seeing you in Mt. Holly in June. I am sorry that I missed your show at Newberry but I am planning to be there next year. Your shows are so tremendous and I look forward to the ones that I can attend. No other Elvis entertainer can even compare to you. I went to Rick's show last night at the Newberry Opera house (05-17-08).
It was both my Mom and my first time seeing Rick preform, I have seen other Elvis impersonators in Michigan. Irv Cass and Doug Church. Rick was wonderful!!!!. He was dynamite! Explosive!!! Great!!!!!!!!!!
He showed that when he sang Elvis's songs. Rick puts his heart and sole into his preformances!!! He also truly enjoys all the folks that come out to see him preform and sincerely enjoys meeting them and taking the time to get to know them alittle bit more.We had a wonderful time and will continue to catch other super preformances comming up this year.
